Why Finsureo exists

AI is changing how UK insurers decide who to cover and at what price. Most of that change happens quietly, inside models few people outside the firm ever see. Finsureo writes about it, in the open.

What we do

We publish short opinion columns on how AI is used in UK underwriting: at Lloyd’s and in the London market, in home, motor and protection cover, and in the rules set by the FCA and the PRA.

Each column takes one position. Every fact inside it links to the insurer, regulator or filing it came from, so you can check our working and disagree with us on the evidence.

Who it is for

  • Underwriters whose job is shifting from reading the file to setting the model’s limits.
  • Brokers who want to know when they are dealing with an algorithm.
  • Compliance and risk teams preparing for the questions the FCA will ask next.
  • Policyholders who want to know why their price changed.

Who writes it

Columns are written by the Finsureo desk, edited by [Editor name and short bio]. Guest columnists from underwriting, broking and compliance are named with their role and any conflicts of interest.

How we are funded

[Funding model, for example: self-funded / newsletter sponsorship, clearly labelled]. No firm pays to be written about, and no firm can pay to be left out. Read the editorial policy.
